According to the Da Nang Water Supply Company (DAWACO), the installation of a large-size pipeline measuring 900mm in diameter under the Han River has been basically completed.

Aimed at ensuring sufficient water supplies for the districts of Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son, work started on the installation work in mid-July.

The pipeline runs beneath the river, exactly at the downstream of the Tien Son Bridge, and it connects to the existing water supply pipelines located at the eastern and western ends of this bridge. A tractor mounted pole hole drilling machine was used for the installation of this large diameter cross-river pipeline.

Mr Ho Minh Nam, the Deputy General Director of DAWACO, said, his unit is planning to install other large diameter pipeline along Chuong Duong Street for its connection with the existing one at the eastern end of the Tien Son Bridge. The work is slated to be completed not later than 20 October in order to increase water pressure at the 2 districts mentioned above.
