Besides, a Certificate of Merit from the Son Tra District People’s Committee was presented to Mr Tran Long Khai from Quang Tri Province, who died during the search.

Previously, DA NANG Today reported on 4 visitors (2 men and 2 women) who were lost when they were on a motorbike trip to the Son Tra Nature Reserve. However, they lost their ways and shouted for help when it rained hard and became dark. At that time, two fishermen, 34-year-old Mai Xuan Minh and 30-year-old Tran Long Khai, who were fishing nearby the area, came to help after hearing scream and shout.

Unfortunately, Mr Khai suddenly slipped and fell down from a high cliff and he died later.

After receiving the SOS message, policemen, firefighters, and other functional bodies immediately conducted their search and rescue activities.

Thanks to their great efforts, the group of visitors and the fishermen were taken to the city centre at around 4am on Wednesday. Amongst the tourists, one man was slightly wound. Meanwhile, the body of the dead fisherman was handed over to his family.

Also on the same day, the Son Tra District authorities presented Certificates of Merit to the police officers who had successfully busted an online gambling ring, with 24 Chinese nationals arrested, in Tho Quang Ward.
