From 2009 until late June 2019, the Da Nang Red Cross Society and its chapters across the city have raised an estimated 300 billion VND in total from generous domestic and foreign donors to help residents overcome the aftermath of natural disasters.

Between 2008 and 2018, the municipal society received 15 foreign non-governmental projects totalling 26 billion VND under the support from the Viet Nam Red Cross Society's Central Committee and the municipal government.

These figures were released by the city’s Red Cross Society at a Monday meeting with some inspectors from the Viet Nam Red Cross Society's Central Committee to review its performance over the past decade.

In his remarks at the meeting, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh affirmed the local government has facilitated the Red Cross Society and its chapters to enhance the quality of movement activities during that period.

He took the opportunity to ask the Viet Nam Red Cross Society's Central Committee to appeal for even more foreign non-governmental projects to implement charitable activities in the city in the coming time.
