A national fire-fighting and rescue practice to be held in the city on Wed.
More than 1,000 people in total will participate in a national-level fire-fighting and rescue practice at the Vinpearl Condotel Riverfront Da Nang, the Vincom Ngo Quyen Trade Centre and the luxury apartment AZURA on Wednesday, 16 October.
The participants will come from the Police Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue, the Air Force Division 372, the Military Zone 5, the Naval Region 3 High Command, the Ministry of Defence, and the departments of public security in Quang Nam and Thua Thien Hue provinces.
Also, there will be representatives from some departments and agencies across Da Nang, including the Department of Public Security, the Military Zone 5 High Command, the Border Guard High Command, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, departments of finance, health, transport, and information and communications, the Da Nang Radio and Television, and the Water Supply and Power companies.
In addition, a total of nearly 100 fire and rescue engines, ambulances, firefighting boats, rescue speed boats, helicopters, and police service dogs will be used.
Co-organised by the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Da Nang People’s Committee, the event aims to raise the awareness and responsibility of departments and agencies across the city about fire prevention and fighting, and rescue activities.
Also, it will help to enhance coordination capacity between police forces and other relevant units in handling massive fires and explosions, as well as to test the effectiveness of fire fighting equipment, and means of communication in some unexpected incidents.
