Detailed planning for waste treatment plant at Khanh Son landfill approved

The Da Nang People’s Committee has approved the detailed 1:500 planning map for the construction of a waste treatment plant at the Khanh Son landfill.

Accordingly, the whole project will cover a total planned area of 1,449,269m2. In particular, the waste treatment plant will have a total area of 69,754m2 and a designed daily treatment capacity of 1,000 tonnes.

The project’s items will include an operational management area, waste treatment facilities, medical waste incineration areas, septic tanks, and hazardous waste treatment sites.

Domestic effluent and leachate arising from the project will be required to be collected and treated appropriately before being discharged into the environment in accordance with the city’s regulations. 

The waste treatment area will need 160m3 of water per day for its operation, whilst 3,050 m3 of water will be used to cool down the waste incineration line at the project. Also, the total power supply for the project is 1,093kVA.
