Most recently, many serious traffic accidents have been reported on Da Nang’s Son Tra Peninsula. Therefore, the municipal authorities have been taken drastic actions in attempting to reduce the number of unexpected incidents there.

The Son Tra Peninsula is dubbed a ‘green pearl’ in the heart of the city. However, the travelling and sightseeing of both locals and visitors on this site are still risky.
The Son Tra Peninsula is dubbed a ‘green pearl’ in the heart of the city. However, the travelling and sightseeing of both locals and visitors on this site are still risky.

In particular, both local residents and visitors will be banned from riding scooters to the peninsular from the intersection of Hoang Sa and a road leading to the more-than-a-century-old banyan tree, the intersection of Yet Kieu and a road leading to the Ban Co (Chessboard) Peak and the Bai Bac tourist site, and the intersection of Yet Kieu and a road leading to the Om (Hug) Stream.

Besides, some security guard stations will be built along the above-mentioned routes in order to remind motorcyclists to pay extra careful attention to riding their vehicles to the peninsula, especially when going up and down slopes

The city’s Department of Transport and relevant agencies will be responsible for placing signs to ban locals and visitors from riding scooters to the peninsula along the above-mentioned routes before 20 October.

The municipal Tourism Department will take the responsibility for constructing security guard stations and arranging employees to check and recommend both domestic and foreign tourists to be cautious when travelling to the Son Tra Peninsula by motorbikes.

Also, the department will develop a plan on using professional transportation vehicles instead of private ones to ensure the safety of visitors, and submit it to the local authorities for consideration before 25 October.
