Torrential rains is hitting mid-central regional localities, including Da Nang, from 30 October - 4 November due to the impacts of the ongoing tropical depression which is likely to develop into a storm combined with enhanced cold air and high turbulence in the easterly wind condition.
Floods are likely to occur on rivers in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Ngai provinces, whilst heavy rain-triggered flash floods and landslides are predicted to tear through some mountainous areas from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai provinces.

In Da Nang, starting from 30 October, there is the possibility of floods in the Vu Gia River, and some rivers in the city, at level 2 and 3 alerts. Meanwhile, mountainous areas in Hoa Vang and Lien Chieu districts are vulnerable to flash floods, and landslides are possible in the river bank and slope sites.
Due to the impacts of recent heavy downpours, many streets across the city, especially those in the districts of Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son, have been submerged in water.
In particular, the intersection of Vo Nguyen Giap and Nguyen Duc Thuan in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Khue My Ward were engulfed in floodwater of between 50-60 cm.
Therefore, the municipal Department of Construction and other relevant agencies are being urged to prepare for floods, flash floods and landslides in the city, and also cope as well as possible if they happen.
