Towards a safe and healthy living environment

All of the district’s wards have met urban civilisation standards. However, the district has been facing some challenges in tackling the press matters of waste treatment, and encroachment onto pavements and roadbed in recent years.
In details, pavement encroachment has been rife on such streets as Nguyen Hoang, Ong Ich Khiem, Hoang Dieu, Trung Nu Vuong, Thai Phien, Yen Bai, Hai Phong, and Quang Trung.
The collection of domestic waste (about 250 tonnes / day) has yet to be implemented effectively. Some places have been facing a backlog of domestic waste, making people annoyed about the serious environment pollution there.

In an effort to build a living environment meeting the urban civilisation standards, the district authorities have done their utmost to quickly receive and timely handle complaints given by local residents.
In particular, the functional bodies have imposed an administrative fine of 750,000 VND on the Quynh Mai Flower Shop for the illegal encroachment of trading activities onto the streetside pavements after receiving complaints by locals.
