21.9 billion VND for reducing flood and coastal erosion risk
The Da Nang authorities have given a nod to spend 21.9 billion VND from the city budget on building anti-erosion embankment systems along banks of rivers which run through Da Nang .
The intention is to reduce coastal erosion risk and flood damage to residential areas and productive land, as well as to improve the landscapes of the rivers' banks.
In particular, embankment systems will be built along banks of a section of the Tuy Loan River which flows through Phu Tuc, Hoa Phuoc and Hoi Phuoc villages in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Phu Commune, plus along the left bank of a section of the Tuy Loan River into the upstream of the Dieu Phong Bridge in namesake village in Hoa Nhon Commune.
Meanwhile, a similar system will be set up along the banks of sections of the Vinh Dien and Giang Nam rivers in the Giang Nam 1 Village, Hoa Phuoc Commune, Hoa Vang District.
The construction work is expected to be implemented over the 2019 - 2021 period.
