Every month, no matter how busy she is, Ms Hoang Hang Ha, 42-year-old resident from Hai Chau District, Da Nang spends many days visiting children at the municipal Orphan Care Centre and child patients at the Da Nang Cancer Hospital and the Hue Central Hospital. In the mind of this kind-hearted woman, such silent yet significant charitable deeds really make her life happier and more meaningful as “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted”.

On a monthly basis, Ha donates large amounts of formula milk worth more than 6 million VND in total to disadvantaged children at the Orphan Care Centre.

Recently, she provided 10 million VND in aid for a child patient who was in desperate need of money to cover the cost of his urgent surgery at the city’s Cancer Hospital.

Having presented the donation, the woman gave words of great encouragement to the patient and his family so that they could have more spiritual support go through this unexpected blow.

Ms Nguyen Thi Nhan, a resident from Tam Ky, neighboring Quang Nam Province, who now takes care of her cancer daughter at the hospital, showed her deep gratitude to Ha. She said each month her daughter and other cancer patients here received an aid of 500,000 VND - 1 million VND each from Ha.

“Possessing such an amount of money is so easy for the rich, but, actually, it is very essential to cancer patients like my daughter”, emotionally said Nhan.

Through such charitable trips, Ha realised the fact that there are still many disadvantaged people who are in desperate need of support.

How to help more needy people constantly invaded her mind, which, eventually, motivated her to open an organic food store on Ham Nghi Street, Thanh Khe District in order to make more money for her charitable programmes. In her mind, if only she had stronger financial position, so she could help more people.

“My objective is to donate all profits generated from the sales to children with patients at the Orphan Care Centre, Da Nang Cancer Hospital, the Hue Central Hospital and those with difficult circumstances” affirmed Ha.

Not only does she help needy child patients, Ha also gives monthly grants to poor local families. Le Thi Dac in her eighties and her bed-ridden polio-affected son from Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District, for example, have received 1 million in aid from Ha on a monthly basis for 4 years.

According to doctor Pham Ngoc Van Chuong from the Ward of Internal Medicine 3 at the Da Nang Cancer Hospital, Ha has given active support, in timely fashion, to a lot of needy patients.

In active response to the hospital-made appeals for donations for emergency cases, Ha immediately makes money transfer via banks or in person comes here to pay hospital fees for certain poor patients, even at all odd hours.

Ha’s good deeds have helped many poor patients cover their medical treatment costs, hereby partly lifting financial burden off them during their treatment processes.
