The wet weather is caused by the influence of inter-tropical convergence zone connected to the low pressure area in the middle of the East Sea.

In particular, a widespread soaking rain is sweeping across the city during the day, accompanied by strong winds at level 3. The day temperatures remain between 230C and 300C, whilst the humidity is reported to hover at between 68 and 99%.

Meanwhile, winds levels 5 - 6, with a gust of level 7, and rough seas with 1 – 2 meter high waves are likely to be seen off the Da Nang coast.

According to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, a low-pressure system is likely to develop into a tropical depression.

At 7.00am today, 4 November, the low-pressure area should be located at latitude 12° and 13oN and longitude 114° and 115°E.

Over the next 24 hours, the low-pressure area is forecast to become a tropical depression, bringing the risk of flooding with more heavy rainfall, to central parts from Quang Binh and Da Nang.

In order to proactively cope with the impacts of the low-pressure system which is likely to turn into a tropical depression and widespread flooding, the Da Nang Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Mitigation, and Control and Search and Rescue has urged functional bodies to keep all fishing boats operating at sea well informed of its position, direction and movement, hereby allow them to take the initiative to avoid dangerous areas or seek safe shelter from the storm.
