Forecasters said if the depression trengthens to a tropical storm, at 1.00pm on 6 November, it should be positioned at latitude 13°6'N and longitude 116°5'E, about 350km northeast of the Song Tu Tay Island of the Truong Sa Archipelago, with winds near its centre at 60-75km per hour and higher gusts.
Over the next hours, the storm is expected to move slowly in an east direction at a velocity of 5km an hour, and it is predicted to become stronger.
Due to the effects of the storm, parts of the central region from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai provinces, including Da Nang, will brace for scattered showers in the nighttime, with winds levels 2 - 3 in the mainland.
Meanwhile, northeast winds levels 5 - 6, with a gust of levels 7 - 8, and rough seas with 1 - 2 meter high waves are likely to be seen off the Quang Binh Province-Da Nang coast.
