Costa Venezia brings international passengers to the city for first time
On Wednesday morning, the Da Nang-based Khang Huy Holiday Viet Nam Travel Co., Ltd held a ceremony at the Tien Sa Port to welcome first international cruise ship passengers to arrive in the city on Costa Cruises’ Costa Venezia cruise ship.

The luxury cruise ship brought over 4,000 passengers and 1,200 crew members from Shekou, Shenzhen, China to the city. This is the first time the Italian-themed cruise ship has brought cruise ship passengers to the city.
During their 10-hour stay in the city, the Chinese guests visited such popular tourist attractions in Da Nang as the Museum of Cham Sculpture, the Linh Ung Pagoda, the Marble Mountains Tourist Area and the Da Nang Cathedral.
On the evening of the same day, the ships left the central coastal city for Shenzhen.
Mr Ly Dac Nam, Director of the Khang Huy Holiday Vietnam Travel Co., Ltd, said the city will welcome 4 additional Costa Venezia cruise ship arrivals from now until January 2020. He added the luxury ship would berth at the Tien Sa Port regularly starting from April 2020.
Director of the municipal Tourism Department Nguyen Xuan Binh highlighted the significance of the operation of Costa Venezia in bringing more international visitors to the city in the time ahead.
The 2019-launched Costa Venezia is the largest cruise ship introduced by Costa Cruises to Asia. It has a total of 15 restaurants and six main bars, and the food offerings include classic Italian dishes, fast food and traditional Chinese and Asian cuisine. The 2,116 cabins are in four main categories -- inside, oceanview, balcony and suite. The shopping area showcases well-known upmarket brand names.
