Recently, representatives from the Da Nang branch of the Viet Nam-Laos Friendship Association and relevant agencies together reviewed the implementation of the homestay programme for Lao students in 2019.

Under the programme, a total of 100 Laotian students who studied at universities and junior colleges in Da Nang were arranged to live with local host families in the districts of Hai Chau, Thanh Khe, Son Tra, Lien Chieu, and Ngu Hanh Son between 30 November and 14 December.

Relevant agencies and the host families facilitated the Lao students to gain a deeper insight into the culture of Vietnamese people, and enhance their Vietnamese language proficiency as well.

On the occasion, 5 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit from the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang, whilst 21 teams and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the city branch of the Viet Nam-Laos Friendship Association in recognition of the active involvement in promoting bilateral relations between Da Nang and Laos.
