Transport operators increase their services for Tet

Air, road and railway transport service providers across Da Nang have already prepared plans to serve the massive influx of passengers during the upcoming Tet Festival.

Mr Pham Loi, Deputy General Director of the city-based Transportation and Bus Station Management JSC, said that 37 ticketing counters at the city’s inter-provincial coach station are selling tickets for Tet. The fares have gone up by between 40% and 60% against normal days.

His company also pledged to provide sufficient coaches for passengers over the forthcoming Tet holiday. 

At present, a total of 389 coaches are operating to carry passengers from the city to northern localities. Included are 48 coaches on Da Nang-Quang Binh, 15 on Da Nang-Ha Tinh-Huong Khe-Tay Son, 53 on Da Nang-Ha Noi, 9 on Da Nang-Thai Binh, 14 on Da Nang-Hai Phong, 3 on Da Nang-Thai Nguyen, 14 on Da Nang-Quang Ninh, and 15 on Da Nang-Hai Duong-Nam Dinh-Lang Son-Lao Cai routes.   

Meanwhile, another 200 coaches are carrying passengers between the city and such highlands localities as Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, and Lam Dong.

As for rail transportation, the city’s railway station has witnessed a growing volume of online ticket booking.

With just over one month to go to Tet which will begin on 25 January, train tickets on the Da Nang-Ho Chi Minh City route from 30 January 2020 - 2 February 2020 have been available.

Vietnam Airlines recently said that it is offering nearly 70,000 tickets to serve travelling demand during the Lunar New Year holiday.

The tickets will be applicable to domestic flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Van Don, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quy Nhon, Plieuku, and Buon Ma Thuot between 17 January 2020 and 8 February 2020 (from the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month to 15th day of the 1st lunar month).

Also, the National flag carrier, Jetstar Pacific and the Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO) are planning to provide around 2.23 million seats on 12,000 domestic flights.

Meanwhile, the low-budget carrier Vietjet Air will offer nearly 2.5 million tickets for all domestic and foreign flights from 11 January 2020 - 9 February 2020.

On the occasion of New Year, Vietjet Air will operate an additional 1,120 flights from 28 December 2019 - 5 January 2020, whilst Bamboo Airways will offer as many as 1 million seats on domestic flights.
