City rejects rumours of coronavirus-infected foreign visitors
On Thursday, Dr Nguyen Tien Hong, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Health Department, confirmed that no cases of coronavirus-infected tourists have been reported in the city.
Previously, on the social network, there had been many rumours going around about the present of China visitors infected with coronavirus in Da Nang and Nha Trang cities.
However, Dr Hong re-affirmed: "There is no foreign traveller infected with the mysterious virus when coming to Da Nang because the measures to prevent and control infectious diseases are strictly implemented".
Also concerning this issue, the municipal health sector had previously quarantined a Chinese national who had a fever when entering the city.
The throat swabs and blood serum samples of the tourist was first sent to the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute to determine the cause of the fever.
The test result from the institute also confirmed the Chinese visitor was not infected with the pneumonia virus.
Then, the blood sample of the tourist was sent to the Ho Chi Minh City-based Tropical Hospital to test for the coronavirus. The tests showed that he was not infected with the pneumonia virus that has spread across China since December last year.
