Da Nang's maritime search and rescue workers save life of Binh Dinh's fisherman
On 7 January, rescuers onboard ship SAR 412 from the Da Nang-based Regional Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre No 2 saved the life of a fisherman who had suffered a serious hand injury off Hoang Sa Islands.

Rescuers were called to the scene after they received the news that a 34-year-old fisherman onboard fishing boat BD 98302 TS from Binh Dinh Province had been seriously hurt in an accident at 9.54am on 4 January.
The victim was reported to have his hand broken after an unexpected labour accident. Also, his health condition became worse with shortness of breath and vomiting symptoms. At the time the vessel was fishing in Hoang Sa waters.
After receiving the SOS message from from the boat’s captain, the Viet Nam Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (Viet Nam MRCC) immediately helped the boat’s crew members to contact doctors from the Da Nang Emergency Centre 115 to ask for first aid instructions. According to the centre’s medical workers, the 34-year-old victim was believed suffering severe closed chest trauma and his health condition may turn worse.
At 4.00 am on 6 January, the SAR 412 reached the rescue of fishing boat, and the injured fisherman recovered from critical condition after having received first aid. The victim was then transferred to the rescue ship for being brought back to the mainland for further care.
