Efforts to help the poor enjoy a happy Tet
Since the 11th lunar month, many charity clubs and groups across Da Nang have been actively involved in giving Tet gifts to disadvantaged people in a bid to help them enjoy a warm and happy Tet.
In the evening of 4 January, some Buddhist artists participated in a charity musical programme at the Anh Em Restaurant on 2 September Street to raise funds for poor and disadvantaged people.
As a result, all the money which was raised from public generous donors at the event went to give 600 Tet gifts to poor patients at the Da Nang General and Cancer hospitals.
Also, the Hoa Tu Bi Charity Club has donated 300 Tet gifts to the poor and the disabled across the city.
The Vo Uu Charity Club under the management of the city-based Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection has given Tet presents to 260 poor families and pupils in Son Lap Commune, Son Tay District, Quang Ngai Province.
In addition, the city’s Red Cross Society and its chapters have raised more than 2.5 billion VND from generous domestic and foreign donors to offer Tet gifts to 6,079 needy people.
