Memorial stele commemorating Da Nang and Quang Nam martyrs inaugurated
A memorial stele of martyrs from Da Nang and Quang Nam Province was officially inaugurated at the Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery in Quang Tri Province on Saturday.

Attending the opening ceremony were former Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri, municipal People's Council Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Tran Dinh Tung, and Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Hung.
In his remarks at the event, Vice Chairman Chinh expressed the deep gratitude of governments and people of Da Nang and Quang Nam Province to the heroes and martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation’s re-unification.
He also thanked the Quang Tri Provincial authorities for creating all favourable conditions for construction units to ensure the on-schedule progress of the project.

The 40m2 1.3 billion VND work was funded by the Da Nang budget. It honours and commemorates 4 heroes and martyrs from Da Nang and 37 others from Quang Nam Province who sacrified their lives on the legendary Truong Son trail during the anti-US resistance war.
To mark the event, the Da Nang authorities donated 200 million VND to Quang Tri Province for refurbishing its Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery. Besides, gifts, worth 2.5 million VND each, were given to 5 social policy families in Quang Tri Province.
