Two civets released back into the wild
Two civets were released back into a green space on Da Nang’s Son Tra Peninsula by forest rangers of the Son Tra-Ngu Hanh Son Forest Ranger Division on Thursday morning.

In August 2019, a family in the city founded the two civets and and brought them to the forest rangers. At that time, the new-born animals weighted only 0.5kg each, so they could not be released it back into the wild.
Therefore, the civets were treated at the wildlife farm in Phu Ha Village, Hoa Son Commune, Hoa Vang District.
After 5 months of being treated by the owner of the farm under the financial assistance of the Douc Langur Foundation, the animals which now weight 1 kg each were released back into a green space on the Son Tra Peninsula’s sub-region 62.
It is known that the civets have a scientific name as Paradoxurus hermaphroditus. It belongs to Group IIB which features rare animals restricted from being held in captivity, hunted, traded or killed.
