During his visit to this site, Vice Chairman Chinh expressed his concern about the current epidemic situation. He, therefore, urged the municipal Military High Command to closely work with the city’s Department of Health to ensure the safety of the isolated people during their quarantine period at the centre.
According to Col Nguyen Quang Vinh, Deputy Commander of the municipal Military High Command, to date, a total of 69 Vietnamese citizens from 32 provinces and cities nationwide repatriated from South Korea have stayed in isolation at the centre. Col Vinh said that the centre is able to accommodate for about 330 isolated people in total.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vo Dinh Khanh from the municipal Military High Command remarked that each of the isolated people here was served with 3 meals, worth 57,000 VND in total, per day.
Mr Khanh said 26 soldiers at the centre are responsible for preparing meals for the isolated and they are conducting routine cleaning/disinfection procedure before cooking and after giving meals to the isolated people here.
Dr Ngo Thi Kim Yen, Director of the municipal Department of Health, said a specialised ambulance and 2 medical workers are on duty around the clock at the centre. If any isolated person develops or starts to show symptoms of fever, they will be immediately taken to the Hospital for Lung Diseases for treatment.
She revealed 7 healthcare workers from the Hoa Vang District-based Medical Station will be available at the centre to advise the isolated people to keep the hands, foot and face clean to prevent the spread of virus infections.
“After their 14-day quarantine ends, those who do not develop flu-like symptoms and receive their normal medical examination result will leave the centre for their hometowns” Dr Yen added.
