City discharges three coronavirus patients from hospital

On Friday morning, three of the 6 coronavirus-infected patients in Da Nang - two British men and a female resident of the city - were discharged from the Da Nang General Hospital after full recovery.

The two British visitors contracted the virus after sharing plane with Viet Nam’s 17th infected patient from London to Ha Noi on 2 March. The foreigners tested positive for the virus on 8 March.

Meanwhile, 29-year-old female resident of Da Nang was diagnosed with coronavirus on 11 March. Earlier, on 4 March, she had close contact with the British guests at her working place, the Dien May Xanh electronics supermarket on Nguyen Van Linh Street.

The Britons tested negative for the virus three times in a row on 19, 23 and 25 March after a nearly two week-long treatment at the hospital.

Also, tests on the city’s female patient came back negative on 20, 23 and 25 March.

Dr Le Duc Nhan, Director of the Da Nang General Hospital, remarked the patients were discharged from his hospital after testing negative for the virus three times. In addition, they are in stable health conditions with no fever, dry cough and shortness of breath.

Dr Nhan added, for safety reasons, the two Britons would be quarantined at their places of residence for 14 days while the other patient would self-isolate at home for the same duration.
