Meanwhile, returnees from ASEAN countries will go into quarantine at the Dong Nghe Training Centre in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Khuong Commune, the Centre for Training National Defense and Security Knowledge, and the Battalion No 4 Base of the Military School of Military Region 5. On 18 March, additional 80 returnees from affected countries stayed in isolation at these sites.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vo Dinh Khanh from the municipal Military High Command remarked that the military personnel at these sites are responsible for preparing meals, and providing guidance on health monitoring, for returnees in isolation.
In addition, the municipal Tour Guides' Association has arranged volunteer tour guides to act as interpreters for the city’s Military Command during the transportation of foreigners to isolation sites. Currently, a number of tour guides who can speak English, Chinese, South Korean, French, Spanish and Russian languages agree to join in the fight against the virus.
Dr Ngo Thi Kim Yen, Director of the municipal Department of Health, remarked that the city’s healthcare officials have developed a plan for full deployment and operation of necessary supplies, healthcare personnel and facilities to combat the spread of the coronavirus. Many zones for quarantining and treating infected patients have been set up at district-level medical centres to prepare for a surge in coronavirus cases.
