Negative test results for 71 others in close contact with the city's coronavirus patients
The Da Nang Centre for Disease Control announced on Thursday morning that 71 additional people who had close contact with the city’s three coronavirus patients have tested negative for the virus.
The three confirmed cases in Da Nang consist of two British nationals and a female resident of Da Nang. All of them are receiving treatment at the Da Nang General Hospital.
To date, the city health officials have traced 119 people in Da Nang who have been in close contact with the two British infected patients during their stay in the city from 2 - 7 March, and 75 others in direct contact with the city’s third coronavirus case to be confirmed in a 29- year old woman, a resident of Da Nang, who is a saleswoman of the Dien May Xanh electronics supermarket on Nguyen Van Linh Street in Hai Chau District.
As of 11 March, a total of 126 people, who had close contact with the city’s three infected patients, have been in quarantine and monitored for symptoms of the virus. As a result, all of them have tested negative for new strain of the virus.
The city is tracking others in Da Nang who have been in close contact with the city’s coronavirus patients in order to place them into isolation at district-level medical centres, and public hospitals in a bid to prevent the spread of the virus.
