At present, Da Nang has about 9,000 medical personnel, 6,500 of whom are working in public hospitals and district-level medical centres. All of them are ready to join in the battle against the virus.
In addition, the municipal Department of Health is planning to call for medical students to join the front lines in combating a pandemic.
Mr Le Viet Nho, Deputy Head of the Medicine and Pharmacy Faculty of the University of Da Nang, said his final year students are willing to help in the fight against the epidemic.
He said that this would be an opportunity for his students to learn about experience from the frontline healthcare workers and improve their professional skills.
Also, about 1,800 volunteers will be called up to provide guidance for diagnosis and prevention of coronavirus for families in their residential areas.
