The city allowed to announce its coronavirus cases
The Da Nang Centre for Disease Control (CDC) has been allowed to announce the city’s coronavirus cases by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health after test results from the Da Nang CDC lab come back positive for the new virus.
On 6 March, the Da Nang CDC was officially allowed to conduct coronavirus tests by the Ministry of Health. However, the samples of the city’s confirmed cases reported by the Da Nang CDC were required to send to the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute to test again to confirm positive results. As a result, test results from the Institute’s lab were the same as the Da Nang CDC carried out.
Dr Ngo Thi Kim Yen, Director of the municipal Department of Health, remarked that the permit granted by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health would help the city take drastic measures to slow the spread of the disease and tackle the virus.
