Rumours of coronavirus cases at the luxury apartment AZURA in Da Nang have been debunked.

Social media reports are circulating, suggesting that five South Korean nationals staying at this building were infected with the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

Speculation spread through social networks, giving fake warnings of the virus.

However, on 1 March, leaders of the Son Tra District-level Medical Station announced that there are no confirmed cases at this building.

They said at around 10.00am on 27 February, medical workers of the Son Tra District-level Medical Station and the An Hai Bac Ward authorities came to the apartment No 2706 at the AZURA building to convince a 38-year-old South Korean national and his roommates to go into isolation at the Hospital for Lung Diseases. The South Korean man arrived in Da Nang from Daegu City - the centre of South Korea's ballooning coronavirus outbreak - on 21 February. He was staying with 4 other South Korean citizens at this apartment. They are K.E (female, 27 years old) entering Da Nang on 14 February, L.M (male, 36) on 14 January, H.K (male, 31) on 8 February, and K.Y.K (male, 23) on 22 January.

A spokesperson for the Son Tra District-level Medical Station also announced that all the 5 South Korean nationals had no health problems at that time and no one experienced high fever or shortness of breath. These South Korean citizens agreed to stay in quarantine for 14 days at the  Hospital for Lung Diseases and they remain under quarantine in hospital.
