Two monkeys released back into the wild
On Monday, the staff of the Son Tra-Ngu Hanh Son Forest Ranger Division released two pig-tailed macaques back into the wild on the Son Tra Peninsula.
The pig-tailed macaques were released back into the wild by forest rangers of the Son Tra-Ngu Hanh Son Forest Ranger Division |
The monkeys were caught on the Thuy Son (the Mountain of Water) of the Marble Mountains Tourist Area by employees of the tourist site.
This kind of wildlife usually harasses and attacks strangers, especially children. Therefore, the Management Board of the Marble Mountains Tourist Area has asked the Son Tra-Ngu Hanh Son Forest Ranger Division to release the monkeys into another location which is far away from the tourist sites in order to ensure the safety of visitors.
The 2 monkeys belong to Group IIB which are rare animals restricted from being held in captivity, hunted, traded or killed.
