Fishing boat QNg 97060 TS caught fire whilst it was undergoing repairs at the Bao Duy Shipbuilding JSC’s ship repair yard at the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf, Da Nang, in the morning of Friday.

Local sources report that the fire broke out at around 9am on the fishing vessel, and started in the lower compartment.

The shipyard’s staff called to the Da Nang Police Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue for help.

Soon after, 2 speedboats and 6 fire engines along with dozens of firefighters arrived on the scene quickly to extinguish the fire.

After one hour of firefighting, the blaze was brought under control.

The cause of the fire and the initial damage are under investigation.
