Flight bringing back stranded citizens from Germany and Spain reaches Da Nang

A special Vietnam Airlines-arranged flight VN08 landed at Da Nang International Airport on Saturday afternoon, bringing back more than 200 stranded citizens from Germany and Spain.

In particular, 18 diplomatic and official passport holders along with one patient implanted with an artificial anal sphincter were among the passengers on the flight . The remainder were Vietnamese citizens who were children and young people (under 18s), seniors, sick people, university and college students finishing their studies abroad.

The flight was part of the Vietnamese government’s efforts and the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines to help foreign diplomatic agencies in the country carry out their citizen protection duties and support the international community in the fight against Covid-19.

All passengers travelling on the flight had their health checked and were required to complete their health declaration, and they were quarantined in a military facilitiy in Da Nang for 2 weeks on arrival under the Vietnamese Ministry of Health’s rules.       

Also, the aircraft, the entire passenger cabin, cockpit and cargo storage area were disinfected after landing.

Director of the municipal Centre for Disease Control Ton That Thanh said that these returnees have been tested for coronavirus just 12 hours after arriving in the city.
