Heatwave temperatures to soar above 39 degrees Celsius
Localities in the mid-central region from Quang Binh and Quang Ngai, including Da Nang, have already been struggling with the heat since early May, but the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting warns that it's going to get even hotter over the next few days.
Regional weather forecasters explain that the hot spell is resulted from the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region.
Temperatures will ramp up to highs of a scorching 39 degrees Celsius, and the hotter conditions throughout the mid-central region are expected to last until this weekend.
In Da Nang, highs soar between 34 and 36 degree Celsius on the average temperatures in the daytime, and even above 36 degree Celsius, especially from 11.30am until 2.30pm. Meanwhile, the lowest humidity is reported as between 50 and 60%.
