Tourist sites in the city reopen on public holidays, but low visitor numbers
Many tourist sites in Da Nang were allowed to reopen on Thursday after the city government had lifted the nearly one-month closure order due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, these places saw low visitor numbers on the first day of the 4-day break for the ongoing public holidays from 30 April - 3 May due to coronavirus fears.
The Son Tra Peninsula, dubbed a 'green pearl' in the heart of the city, officially resumed its tourist activities on Thursday.

Mrs Tran Thi Vui, a resident of Son Tra District’s An Hai Bac Ward, said she took her grandchildren to the peninsula to enjoy pure air and beautiful natural landscapes on the occasion of the public holidays.
“Although many people are visiting the peninsula, they are aware of the Ministry of Health’s rules that are in place to keep a safe distance from others at all times”, Mrs Vui added.

Mr Nguyen Van Hien, Head of the Management Board of the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, said the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, the special national relic site, is open free for all visitors during the ongoing public holidays, but it saw low tourist numbers compared with the same period last year.
“After reopening its doors to the public, the Marble Mountains Tourist Area is taking steps to ensure best practices on the prevention and control of infections, with a focus on asking visitors to stritcly follow preventive measures such as wearing face masks while on the site and avoiding gatherings in order to keep themselves and others safe.”. Mr Hien remarked.

The Sun World Ba Na Hills welcomed about 1,200 visitors, mainly local residents, on the first day of reopening its doors. Visitors to this site are required to wear face masks, clean their hands often, and stay safe distance with others.
The My Khe Beach in Son Tra District welcomed a large number of beach-goers to go swimming and play sports.

The Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park remains closed during the public holidays for upgrading some of its entertainment facilities.
Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong said visitor numbers in Da Nang during the public holidays is likely to drop by 98.5% against 2019 to stand at 5,800, around 650 of whom will be foreigners whilst the remaining 5,150 will be domestic visitors.
