During the 2015-2020 period, the Da Nang Association of Former Youth Volunteers has raised around 5 billion VND from generous domestic donors to support its members in financial hardship. The funds raised have been used for giving bicycles, wheelchairs and gifts to 9,198 poor ex-youth volunteers across the city.

Over the past five years, the Association has helped 41 of its members build their new houses or repair their downgraded ones, reburied 27 remains of martyrs at some martyrs' cemeteries across the city, and donated 130 million VND to a programme to upgrade rural areas in Hoa Vang District.

The figures were released by the Association at Tuesday’s meeting to review its performance over the past 5 years, and identify its new tasks for the next 5 years.

Over the 2020-2025 period, the Association will focus on raising funds to help its poor members, and educating younger generations about revolutionary tradition and patriotism.

Also at the review meeting, 2 organisations and 9 individuals were honoured with Certificates of Merit from the municipal Association of Former Youth Volunteers in recognition of their dedicated support to the Association over the past 5 years.
