Viet Nam's National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF) is predicting that the high temperatures will continue blanketing central coastal localities from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai provinces, including Da Nang, for next 10 days.

High temperatures are expected to continue into next week as the region's heatwave shows no signs of ending.

The national weather forecasters say that the localities have been sweltering in recent weeks in heat due to the effects of the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region.

In Da Nang, the temperature is set to hit between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius in the daytime, and some parts of the city can expect highs of over 38 degree Celsius.

Under the effect of the hot weather, thunderstorms, lighting and strong winds are possible in mountainous areas in the nighttime.
