An elderly man was rescued from a fire which broke out in his rented house in Da Nang on Thursday afternoon.

The blaze started at around 2.00pm on Thursday at a house, located in alley No382 on Ton Dan Street in Cam Le District’s Hoa An Ward.

The neighbours saw a large volume of black smoke billowing from the burning house. They managed to bring an elderly man out of the burning house to safety, and they then called firefighters for help.

Fire crews, plus 4 fire engines, from the Fire Fighting and Prevention Division in Cam Le District were on scene within minutes after being alerted about the incident.

After 40 minutes of firefighting, the blaze was brought under control. Many of the house's properties were destroyed. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
