No new Covid-19 cases in Viet Nam in past 24 hours

There have been no new confirmed cases of coronavirus in Viet Nam in the past 24 hours as of the morning of 15 June, according to statistics from Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

It means the total number of cases in Viet Nam still stands at 334, with no deaths.

The country has gone 60 consecutive days without a domestically transmitted infection.

In total, 194 of the confirmed cases were overseas arrivals, and they were quarantined on arrival.

The Committee said 323 of Viet Nam's 334 cases have been given the all-clear for the virus till date. This means 96.7 percent of the cases in the county have made a full recovery from the illness. 

There are 11 Covid-19 patients currently in hospitals nationwide, of whom, one tested negative for the virus once, and test results came back negative for three others at least twice.

The treatment sub-committee also reported that Patient 91, a British pilot and also the most severe case, continued to show improvement, but he still needs many more weeks to recover.

Currently, 8,792 people who are close contacts of coronavirus carriers and arrivals from pandemic-hit areas are under quarantine across the country, of whom, 96 in hospitals, 7,778 in designated sites, and 918 at home./.
