One new imported coronavirus cases confirmed in Viet Nam on 26 June evening

One more patient has tested positive for coronavirus in Viet Nam, bringing the total number of Viet Nam's cases to 353 people, according to Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control figures released at 6pm on June 26.

The new male patient, 31, returned Cameroon on flight VN9674, which transited in Nigeria, Ethiopia and Malaysia, and landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCM City on June 25. Upon arrival, he was put under quarantine at the city’s District 7 Hospital. Now he is being treated at the Cu Chi field hospital.

Latest update from Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control states that on 27 June morning, no-one in Viet Nam were positive for the potentially deadly virus. It means the total number of cases in the country still stands at 353, with no deaths.

Viet Nam has seen no new locally transmitted cases for 72 straight days.

In total, 213 of the confirmed cases were overseas arrivals, and they were quarantined on arrival.

Statistics released by the Committee show that Viet Nam has seen 330 people recover from the deadly illness. This means the percentage of patients who have recovered from the coronavirus in the country currently reaches 93.5.

There are 23 Covid-19 patients currently in hospitals nationwide, of whom, four tested negative for the virus once, and test results came back negative for three others at least twice.

Currently, 7,846 people who are close contacts of coronavirus carriers and arrivals from pandemic-hit areas are under medical monitoring and quarantine across the country.
