All the new patients are Vietnamese citizens returning from Europe on flight VN2 on June 6, the Committee said. They were quarantined in Ha Noi after entering Viet Nam.

They tested positive for coronavirus on 18 June and all of them are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No. 2 in Dong Anh, Ha Noi.

Latest update from Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control states that on 20 June morning, no-one in Viet Nam were positive for the potentially deadly virus. It means the total number of cases in the country still stands at 349, with no deaths.

Viet Nam has seen no new locally transmitted cases for 65 straight days.

In total, 209 of those confirmed cases were overseas arrivals, and they were quarantined on arrival.

Statistics released by the Committee show that Viet Nam has seen 326 people recover from the deadly illness. This means the percentage of patients who have recovered from the coronavirus in the country currently reaches 93.4.

Four of the remaining 23 patients currently in hospitals nationwide have tested negative for the coronavirus at least twice.

Currently, 10,500 people who are close contacts of coronavirus carriers and arrivals from pandemic-hit areas are under medical monitoring or quarantine across the country: 162 at hospitals, 9,387 at designated facilities, and 952 at home.
