Two new imported coronavirus cases recorded on June 27 evening in Viet Nam

There have been two new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Viet Nam, meaning there are now 355 people in Viet Nam who have tested positive for coronavirus, according to Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control figures released on June 27 evening.

The two new female patients returned to Viet Nam from Kuwait on June 18, and they were quarantined in a designated facility in the northern province of Hung Yen after entering Viet Nam . At present, they are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No. 2 in Dong Anh district, Ha Noi.

Latest update from Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control states that on 28 June morning, no-one in Viet Nam were positive for the potentially deadly virus. It means the total number of cases in the country still stands at 355, with 330 recoveries and no deaths.

Viet Nam has seen no new locally transmitted cases for 73 straight days.

In total, 215 of those confirmed cases were overseas arrivals, and they were quarantined on arrival.

Five of the remaining 25 patients currently in hospitals nationwide have tested negative for the coronavirus once and negative test results for five others twice or more.

Currently,  9,048 people who are close contacts of coronavirus carriers and arrivals from pandemic-hit areas are under medical monitoring or quarantine across the country: 107 at hospitals, 8,051 at designated facilities, and 890 at home.
