On 3 January, Da Nang got approval from the Prime Minister to establish the Viet Nam-Korea IT and Communications University, a member school of the University of Da Nang (UDN).
The Viet Nam-Korea Information Technology (IT) and Communications University is established based on a merger between the Viet Nam-Korea Friendship IT Junior College under the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications, Da Nang-based Information Technology Junior College, the UDN’s Faculty of Information Technology and Communications, and some other UDN’s units.
The university will deliver high-quality human resources for Da Nang’s IT sector, thereby helping the city deal with its severe shortage of highly-skilled IT employees.
The university now has 242 staff members, including 139 lecturers, with 5 faculties, 8 function rooms, and 3 centres. There have been nearly 2,000 students enrolled in the school and student numbers will increase to 10,000 by 2025.
