Viet Nam reports no new local coronavirus transmissions for 50 days

There were no new coronavirus (Covid-19) cases reported in Viet Nam for an entire 24-hour period as of Friday morning, and the country has remained unchanged in its case numbers at 328, the latest official data released by Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

Viet Nam has recorded no new domestic transmissions for 50 consecutive days.

In total, 188 of those confirmed cases were overseas arrivals, and they were quarantined on arrival.

Currently, 8,143 people who are close contacts of coronavirus carriers and arrivals from pandemic-hit areas are under quarantine in hospitals, and designated sites, as well as are self-isolated at home across the country.

Overall, 302 patients, equivalent to 92.1% of the total confirmed cases in Viet Nam, have recovered from the illness, and there have been no coronavirus deaths in Viet Nam till date. 

There are 26 Covid-19 patients currently in hospitals nationwide, of whom, seven tested negative for the virus once, and test results came back negative for seven others twice or more.
