Viet Nam reports one new imported Covid-19 case, bringing tally to 329

Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control on June 6 morning announced one more imported Covid-19 case, bringing the country's overall tally to 329.

The male patient, 22 years old, is a student back from the UK and a resident of Ha Noi. He arrived at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City from the UK on June 4 on Flight VN50.

He was quarantined on arrival, and his sample taken the same day. One day later, his results came back positive for the virus.

In total, 189 of those confirmed cases were overseas arrivals, and they were quarantined on arrival.

There have been no signs of community transmission for 51 straight days since April 16. 

Overall, 307 patients have recovered from the illness, and there have been no coronavirus deaths in Viet Nam till date.

There are 22 Covid-19 patients currently in hospitals nationwide, of whom, ten tested negative for the virus once, and test results came back negative for three others twice or more.
