The hotel’s receptionist pulled the fire alarm and called for help after discovering the fire in the basement of the hotel. He and other hotel staff members managed to stamp out the blaze with portable fire extinguishers but they were unsuccessful. Hence, they rang firefighters for help.

Fire crews along with 3 fire engines, from the Fire Fighting and Prevention Division in Son Tra District rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the fire.

Residents were asked to avoid the area and keep doors and windows closed if they live close by.

Firefighters were working incredibly hard to contain the fire. The fire was brought under control shortly one hour later.

The fire service confirmed many of the hotel's properties in the basement, including 2 motorcycles, were destroyed but, luckily, there were no casualties.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
