Fourteen new imported coronavirus cases recorded on July 6 evening in Viet Nam

There have been 14 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Viet Nam, meaning there are now 369 people in Viet Nam who have tested positive for coronavirus, according to Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control figures released on July 6 evening.

The new patients consisting of 12 males and two females, returned home from Bangladesh. They were  quarantined in a military facility in Bim Son town, the central province of Thanh Hoa after entering Viet Nam at Van Don Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh on July 3.

At present, they are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No. 2 in Dong Anh, Ha Noi.

Two more Covid-19 patients in Viet Nam were discharged from hospital on July 6, taking the total of patients given the all-clear to 341 till date, the Committee said. This means 92.4 percent of the cases in the county have made a full recovery from the illness.  

The new recovered patients are patient 239, who is a 22-year-old Vietnamese man, and Patient 91, the British pilot.

Viet Nam has no active coronavirus cases on July 7 morning. It means the total number of cases in Viet Nam still stands at 369, with no deaths, the Committee said.

The country has gone 82 days without a domestically transmitted infection.

In total, 229 of the confirmed cases were overseas arrivals, and they were quarantined on arrival.

There are 28 Covid-19 patients currently in hospitals nationwide, of whom, six tested negative for the virus once.

Currently, 13,047 people who are close contacts of coronavirus carriers and arrivals from pandemic-hit areas are under medical monitoring or quarantine across the country:
