Localities from Da Nang to Binh Thuan are set to experience rain and thunderstorms during the weekend and next week in a marked changed to the glorious sunshine and scorching temperatures felt for most of this week, the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting said.

After a month of sunshine, weather warnings may be put in place in these localities as they prepare for possible showers and thunderstorms from 4 - 12 July.

Regional weather forecasters say most parts of Da Nang will wake up to a drier start but rain is expected in the locality in the afternoon.

There will plenty of unsettled wind and rain in many parts of the city in the early mornings and late afternoons while the mercury is set to dip between 28 and 32 degrees Celsius.

Thunderstorms, lightning, hail and strong winds are possible in mountainous areas in the city in the nighttime.
