As of Tuesday, the Da Nang government has provided financing worth 221,440 million VND to those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic citywide. The support fund came from the national and Da Nang budgets.

In details, 105,000 million VND went to support social allowance beneficiaries, those who made meritorious contributions to the nation’s revolutionary cause, and families living below and near the city’s poverty thresholds.

Meanwhile, 116,440 million VND was earmarked to help those who have their labour contracts suspended, freelancers, employees having their labour contracts terminated but are ineligible for unemployment insurance, and small family businesses which are hit by virus shutdown.

The rest of the grant fund was given to teachers and non-public servants.

In particular, the city authorities are now mulling over widening the list of beneficiaries who are barbers, domestic workers in a private household, and sanitation workers.
