Coronavirus recoveries in Da Nang reach 112, including pregnant woman with Covid-19 giving birth safely

Sixteen more patients have been given all-clear from coronavirus following between three and five negative Covid-19 tests.

The recovered people, comprising of 14 from Da Nang and 2 from Quang Nam Province, left the Hoa Vang Field Hospital for Covid-19 patients on Saturday afternoon after they had made a full recovery from the illness. They are no longer contagious as they no longer suffer from fever, cough and shortness of breath.

Among the recovered people was a 35-year-old woman who gave birth safely while receiving the treatment for Covid-19.

Doctor Nguyen Dai Vinh, the Director of the Hoa Vang District Medical Centre said the newborn baby tested negative for the virus thrice.

Doctor Nguyen Dai Vinh, the Director of the Hoa Vang District Medical Centre, said that strict infection prevention and control measures have been put in place to keep safe for pregnant women with Covid-19 and their newborns before, during and after giving birth in a bid to reduce the risk of infection and transmission of coronavirus from mother to their newborns.

The hospital used its specialised vehicle to carry the recovered people home. The close monitoring of these people will be put in place during their 14-day self- quarantine period at their places of residence following the Health Ministry’s guidelines after they are back in their own home.

Statistics show Da Nang has seen 112 people recover from coronavirus till date after the city braced for a second wave of Covid-19 infections in late July, according to the Da Nang Department of Health.
