The Da Nang Department of Information and Communications has built a centralised repository of individual-level information on patients with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 in the city, on a trial basis. Included are their travel history, location, symptoms, and reported onset dates, as well as confirmation dates and basic demographics.

The trial database has been made available to the public at www.opendata.danang.gov.vn or  https://congdulieu.vn and . Data are available openly and are updated on a regular basis. Information is collected from a variety of sources, including official reports from the national and municipal - level steering committees for Covid-19 Prevention and Control. 

The database will help better inform the public and guide public health decision-making, as well facilitate the city authorities and health officials to create planning of response and containment efforts to reduce the burden of disease. 

According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Information and Communication Tran Ngoc Thach, constructive comments and recommendations from the public will be collected so as to perfect the database’ features during the pilot period.
