Four of the Covid-19 patients being treated for the novel coronavirus in Da Nang were discharged from the Lung Hospital on Monday morning after they had tested negative for the virus three or four times.  The discharged patients are the first to be given the all-clear of this deadly virus so far in the city since it saw a second wave of Covid-19 infections late last month.

The completed-cured patients, aged from 41 – 58, were rushed into the hospital after they had tested positive for the virus on 27 and 28 July.

Three of them are from the city, namely Thanh Khe District’s Hoa Khe Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District’s Hoa Hai Ward, and Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Chau Commune, respectively, whilst the remaining one is from Quang Ngai Province’s Ba To District.

The three patients met the Health Ministry’s recovery protocol after testing Covid-19 negative thrice, said the hospital’s doctors.

Doctor Le Thanh Phuc, the hospital’s Director, said all the discharged patient have made a full recovery from the illness.  Their health is in stable condition as they no longer suffer from fever, cough and shortness of breath, according to their recently-conducted clinical examinations.

Upon their discharge, the close monitoring of the 4 patients will be put in place during their 14-day self- quarantine period at their places of residence following the Health Ministry’s guidelines.

Before leaving the hospital, the cured patients expressed their deep gratitude to the hospital’s staff for their great care, love, and dedication during their hospital stay.

“Initially I fell into the state of anxiety and depression due to being stricken with the novel coronavirus disease.  But then, I was regularly reassured by the hospital staff.  I can't express in words how grateful I am for great care, love and support I have received from kind-hearted and devoted medical workers here”, one of the successfully-cured patients said.
