Hai Phong sends 33 medical workers to help Da Nang tackle Covid-19
Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho, on Tuesday, called on Binh Dinh Province and Hai Phong City to support workforce to help the city tackle Covid-19 as a large number of doctors and nurses working in big hospitals and healthcare facilities in Da Nang have been placed under full or partial isolation.
Mr Tho remarked that Da Nang is in need of urgent help from provinces and cities nationwide to tackle workforce shortages amid a new wave of Covid-19 infections.
Chairman Tho said, over recent days, the Ministry of Health and the country’s leading hospitals, including Bach Mai, Cho Ray and Hue Central, along with organisations and individuals nationwide, have provided active support for Da Nang to help it in the fight against Covid-19.
In response to Da Nang government's appeals, Hai Phong City will send 8 doctors and 25 nurses to Da Nang in an effort to help the city in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic.
Also, Hai Phong City will donate 5 billion VND and 200,000 surgical masks to Da Nang to help it respond to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
